Artist Statement

Ling Pui Sze has focused on experimental ink painting and collage by reconstructing the cells and water images into abstract organisms on canvas. Concerning the relationship of the laws in nature, biological characteristics and human society development, Ling also presents her imagination by medium including sculpture and installation.

Artist Biography

Ling Pui Sze was born in Guangzhou, China in 1989 and moved to Hong Kong in 1997. In 2012, she graduated in fine arts (BFA) from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, receiving the Wucius Wong Creative Ink Painting Award at graduation. Her solo exhibitions include It all begins in the Sea (Gallery Exit, Hong Kong, 2014) and Metamorphosis (Ch’ien Mu Library, New Asia College, CUHK, Hong Kong, 2012). Joint exhibitions include → (Blindspot Gallery, Hong Kong, 2016) and Hidden Body (AISHONANZUKA, Hong Kong, 2017).
